We choose to remain out of some networks because we find some network
administrators either too invasive with respect to your privacy,
too restrictive in authorizing
sessions with our clients or that they simply pay far less than the usual
and customary fees.
Clients who see us using their
out-of-network benefits do so for a variety of reasons: They
have been personally referred
to us and wish to see a therapist only through a personal referral.
They may have had a bad experience using their “in-network” counselors.
They may wish to avoid having treatment decisions decided by case
managers who work for their insurance company. They may wish for
the greater privacy afforded to their personal information when
their treatment is provided by an out-of-network psychologist.
